9th Conference of Applied Hygiene, Microbiology and Virology

In 2023, the Conference of Applied Hygiene, Microbiology and Virology starts in its nineth year. After the very successful second hybrid edition in 2022, which impressed again with outstanding presentations and attracted more than 100 international participants from 22 countries, we are now inviting you to this year's conference. The 9th Conference of Applied Hygiene, Microbiology and Virology will take place 30 November - 01 December 2023 in Hamburg and also online, presented by Dr. Brill + Partner GmbH Institut für Hygiene und Mikrobiologie and the DR. BRILL ACADEMY. Our conference venue is the wonderful AMERON Hamburg Hotel Speicherstadt in the picturesque and historic "Speicherstadt".

Highlights of the 9th Conference of Applied Hygiene, Microbiology and Virology:

  • Keynote Lecture: Rachel Leslie, MSc, USA, Dr. David R. Macinga, USA (in memoriam)
    Development of more practice-simulating methods for efficacy evaluation of hand rubs based on EN 1500 and ASTM E2755 - A 15 years project

    Rachel Leslie and Dr. Dave Macinga were highly engaged in the scientific background and the development of test methods such as ASTM E2755 and EN 1500 for alcohol-based hand rubs in the past 15 years. They contributed in many ways to the scientific know how and compliance and especially more practice-like test methods for these most important infection prevention products as called by WHO and US-CDC. They published a outstanding number of high-class papers and presented their research to the scientific community over the years.
    Unfortunately, Dave passed away earlier this year and we would like to honor his scientific life with Rachels talk.

     
  • Keynote Lecture: Professor Dr. Kurt-Wilhelm Stahl, Freiburg
    LeiProtect® our neglected hygienic reverse innovation for the neglected infectious wound disease Cutaneous Leishmaniasis - Why?

    Professor Stahl is Mr. Leishmaniasis. He dedicated his life to the prevention and treatment of this infectious diseases and with a foundation of his charity organization “Waisenmedizin” support research treatment medicine and information on infection prevention for the many patients in low and middle income countries. He knows everything about the disease and the treatment.
     
  • Keynote Lecture: Dr. Florian H. H. Brill
    Overview of development of efficacy testing of disinfectants, antiseptics, wound dressings, and antimicrobial surfaces 2030

    A tradition of the CAHMV conference is to inform you about the development of new test methods at CEN and ECHA level including their impact on your products and strategy. Dr. Florian H. H. Brill will expand your knowledge of the current state of the art with this Keynote Lecture "Overview of development of efficacy testing of disinfectants, antiseptics, wound dressings, and antimicrobial surfaces 2030".
